Hosting Solutions

Some people may be unaware that Web of Knowledge Limited has its own hosting division, meaning that we are a single point of technical contact for most of our clients websites, email services (including anti-Spam filtering) and domain names.

With some web hosting providers your site will be sharing a server with several thousand websites, but with our hosting we ensure that never happens, with a maximum of 300 sites on most servers, and for larger/busier websites our lo-load hosting options means just six other sites sharing with you.

If you already have a website, why not get in touch - we will do a quick check and may be able to tell you how many sites are shoehorned alongside your one.

The problem with having a lot of other sites sharing your server is that it can really slow down your website loading speed, especially at peak times. You've only got 6-10 seconds to grab your audience's attention anyway, so a slow loading website is not doing you any favours. (Google has also started to take loading speed into account when ranking sites in its search engine results).

Another question you should ask is where is your website hosted? If you're a business trading in the UK (or UK and Europe) and you find your website is hosted in the USA (for example) this could have implications both from a speed point of view, but also may mean that support during office hours may not be as responsive as it should be!

All our servers are based in the UK, we have access to engineers either on-site or nearby 24/7, and if needed we can get to them within a couple of hours.
We pride ourselves in very high customer retention rates, this is mainly because of the flexible proactive support we provide, and you'll always get us on the other end of the phone when you call (during office hours) rather than a call centre!

Entry level Business Class Hosting (including 12 hourly backups) is available from £100 plus VAT, this usually includes your domain name registration or renewal - there are many other options we offer that you might need, so please contact us for more details. (Also remember that if you have your 6 page or larger website designed and built by Web of Knowledge Ltd then your first year's hosting is free!)

Web of Knowledge Limited's FutureServers hosting division can register UK domains as a member of Nominet, and provides registration and management services for other domain types via its partnerships with OpenSRS and CentralNic, and is registered with UKERNA for provision of .gov.uk and ac.uk domains.
